Laura Garofalo

Laura Garofalo has practiced employment law since 2005, and has dedicated her practice to the management side.  After law school, Laura worked as an Associate in the Labor & Employment group of one of the country's largest law firms, where she represented companies in mediation, arbitration, and federal and state court and agency proceedings; advised employers on state and federal employment laws, employee relations issues, and their Human Resources policies and practices; and prepared and conducted trainings and seminars on a variety of employment law topics.  Laura subsequently went in-house, working as Vice President, Sr. Employment Counsel for a Fortune 500 company where she counseled Human Resources and management teams on employment-related issues and projects; investigated and resolved employee complaints; developed and conducted trainings on numerous employment-related laws and topics; drafted Human Resources policies and guidelines; and managed employment litigation.  In 2018, Laura opened her own practice, keeping her focus on helping employers create and maintain respectful workplaces and avoid employment litigation. 

Prior to attending law school, Laura worked as a Human Resources professional and earned her M.B.A.  Laura's experience as outside counsel, in-house counsel, and a Human Resources professional has given her a unique perspective on, and understanding of, companies' employment law issues and concerns, and the impact these issues can have on business operations.
